| The time between Christmas and New Year gives us the opportunity to review the past months and to take a glance at our future challenges. ABAS and the abas Software Partners can look back at the 25th company anniversary year as an exceptionally successful business year. Other criteria besides the technical factors, such as the evolutionary system approach of the abas Business Software, the increasingly global orientation and the open mindedness in relation to technology play an important role: ethical principles and fair play in working with one another make for a strong and successful future! The year 2006 is shaped through improved general conditions, confidence in ones own strength, courage to change, fairness and looking forward to the future.  Since January 2006 ABAS has been a member of the German Association of Accountants and Controllers incorporated society, National Association Baden-Wuerttemberg – and on top of this they are the thousandth company member!The German Association of Accountants and Controllers incorporated society was established in 1976 with the aim of representing the economic and the career interests of accountants. In 1994 the association for the professional guild of controllers was established because the spectrum of duties in the jobs overlapped in many areas. Naturally the innovations in technology and IT did not completely pass by this profession. Evaluations relating to the past must be increasingly available at shorter notice, these requirements are fulfilled through the implementation of IT systems. Furthermore, looking into the future becomes increasingly more important in order to make substantiated business decisions. On the basis of the prepared past figures it is the task of the accountants and increasingly of the controllers to forecast as accurately as possible and to react accordingly with the aid of the early warning system. |

| “Accounting” experts meeting was a complete success | |||
| “You have surprised us and we are delighted”, on 30.11.2005 Wolfgang Klemm greeted over 50 participants with these words at the first abas “Accounting” experts meeting, the ABAS Projektierung, in the Ettlinger Radisson SAS Hotel. „The large number of participants at this meeting“, continues Klemm, „impressively displays and proves the importance of presenting the abas Business Software users with the most up-to-date information and highlights in a specific area”. | |||
 The abas Business Software constantly develops. Each new version builds on the previous versions. The transparency and the continuous dataflow spanning the departments and version in the business provides a great use potential.“In the financial accounting of the abas Website alone there are 188 pages of abas Business Software features and functions from Version 2002 up to 2005,” says Dieter Fiedler from the ABAS Projektierung in his presentation, and: “If the upgrades and the new features and functions contained in them are implemented yearly then the use of the software increases equally and continuously for the business.” |

| User report: Walzengießerei Coswig improves hitting deadlines and increases cost transparency using abas ERP | |||
 With the implementation of the inter-company ERP solution of the ABAS AG, Walzengießerei Coswig replaced a number of isolated applications and was, therefore, able to considerably increase the transparency via the internal production cycle. The leadtimes were reduced and the agreed delivery dates could be specified more accurately. Preliminary and final costing were also optimized. Walzengießerei Coswig GmbH (roller foundry) is making an impact as a company which is producing cylinders, amongst other products, for the world's largest sheet-fed offset presses. The roller foundry itself has also been causing a stir! The new ERP system abas Business Software is responsible for all of this action. The company has exchanged its specific software solution for the foundry industry for this sector independent product and thus brought fresh wind into the business process.Walzengießerei Coswig operates in the business areas of casting of rollers and dead-mould casting. In addition to products for the printing press industry, dead-mould castings for mechanical engineering, rolls and rings for steel and rolling mills, as well as products for wind power plant engineering are being manufactured. 190 employees in the Saxonian town of Coswig, on the outskirts of Dresden, supply customers all over Europe, as well as China and Brazil, and achieved a revenue of approx. 24 million Euro in the previous year. |

| Isolated applications which were previously common practice are passé because the abas Business Software can cover all business processes. Many employees had more or less put together their own databases which, however, did not support the business processes because not everyone in the company was able to access this information. In contrast, a continuous workflow could be achieved using the ERP solution. "Here a uniform database was created", says Berndt, "if one introduces such a system then naturally all should also be able to work with it." "We have a much greater transparency of the internal production process", emphasizes the Head of IT. Thus, for example, the company can tell the customer exactly how far their product is in the completion and when it can be delivered. "This did not happen before to this degree." "The strategical goal was to optimize the cooperative work with customers and vendors,", says Berndt, "we were able to achieve this in this way." If sales orders need to be changed at short notice or bottlenecks need to be controlled „I always have my products and materials available to view and can make the appropriate decisions. Thus, the roller foundry is supported by the ERP system with cut delivery times and an improved adherence to delivery times.More ... |

| Removable stickers and bathroom accessories manufactured and sold by the ‘nie wieder bohren AG’ from Hanau in Hessen. The continuous expansion of the business will in the future be supported by the abas Business Software and the abas Software Partner ABAS Projektierung Rhein-Main GmbH & Co. KG. For more than 25 years the name Sodick has stood for highest quality and trendsetting service. Sodick manufactures and distributes erosion machines in Asia, America and Europe. 10 users at the two Sodick Hightech Deutschland GmbH locations in Germany will in the future be supported by the abas Business Software. The implementation of the abas Business Software and the support of Sodick will be the responsibility of the ABAS Informationssysteme GmbH. The ABAS Business Solutions Sdn Bhd (Malaysia) takes pleasure in announcing its new customer S&Y Metal Stamping Snd Bhd. The company manufactures metal stampings for the automotive and electronics industry. |
