| With the EDI function in abas ERP (EDI = Electronic Data Interchange), structured business documents (VDA, ODETTE, EDIFACT) can be automatically exchanged between the business application programs of a number of business partners. Version 2005 of the abas Business Software includes new functions, messages and infosystems in the area of Electronic Data Interchange. By means of the configurable EDI interface as in-house format , it is possible to depict outgoing delivery schedules, purchase orders and invoices.More ... |

 IST Metz GmbH in Nürtingen is one of the first customers of ABAS AG. Dr. Werner Dax, head of IT, is responsible for the IT environment and the ERP system at the manufacturer of UV systems. We spoke to Dr. Dax about his experience with abas Business Software and the cooperation with ABAS. |

| When did you start using ABAS? We have been using ABAS since 1988. The management came to the conclusion that is was necessary to use an ERP system in order to support business processes. The decision was made in favor of ABAS. How do you evaluate the upgradability or releaseabilty of the system? To import a new release is a time effort of half a day or at most one day. The releases are tested by our experts and key users and then released. This is an effort of at most one and a half days. The abas upgrade is not critical and, compared to other systems, can be carried out quickly. It needs to be mentioned that several clients have to be upgraded: our productive client and three test clients in which different projects are depicted. The entire effort refers to those four systems. What is the reason for the abas Business Software being so convincing? I like the company that is behind it: its flexibility, philosophy and understanding for their customers. The price/performance ratio is good, as well as the possibility to adjust the system to ones requirements easily. All three points were decisive for our selection. More ... |

 The last part of the series on the ERP study by Kondradin publishing highlights the criteria “Quality of contact person” and “Helpdesk quality”.ABAS contact persons and the abas partners are given top marks by the users: with a score of 1.70 ABAS reaches first place. The helpdesk is received well by the abas customers: with a grade of 1.90 ABAS is once again at the forefront. |

| On November 6, a team of the Spanish abas sales partner Abas Ibérica S.L. participated in a 6 km run across Madrid. | |||
 The “Carrera de las Empresas” already took place for the seventh time with 3,000 participants from 800 different companies. Moreover, the company was running for a good cause: the organizer, the magazine “Actualidad Economica”, was able to collect donations for a water project in Ethiopia amounting to 6,000 Euro. |

350 employees are working for Ruhrtaler Gesenkschmiede F. W. Wengeler GmbH & Co. KG. High-quality blacksmith products for the commercial vehicle industry, crane construction and railway vehicles are being manufactured. In the future, the company will be working with abas Business Software using Linux and is a customer of the abas partner SteinhilberSchwehr GmbH. The connection of CAD, CAQ and PDM is also planned. The company WIRSOL GmbH has opted for the trade solution abas Trade. The company of the Wirth group realizes brand solar power systems for private and industrial customers. Currently the annual growth is 400%. New subsidiaries, e.g. in Spain, are also to use abas Trade. The partner responsible for the ERP implementation is ABAS Projektierung Rhein-Main GmbH & Co. KG. With ELPO Fiberglass Reinforced Plastics Co. the Turkish abas partner BEBIM Bilisim Teknolojileri Ltd. Sti was able to gain a new customer. ELPO manufactures fiber-glass reinforced plastic parts for the automotive supply industry. MAN, Mercedes, Alcatel and Otokar are among their customers. |
