| In hall 5, stand A 18, ABAS will, together with its sales partners, present news concerning the abas Business Software (ERP, PPC, MRP, eBusiness). ABAS is celebrating its 25th company anniversary. Therefore, the company is placing its attention particularly on the evolutionary system approach of the software which ensures a continuing development. Further central topics: internationality, ERP for the automotive industry, CRM functionality, Web Applications, function expansions and 64Bit computing. | |||
 25 years of ABASABAS will be 25 – a proud age for a software company! For the abas users a sign for long-time experience and quality as well as the guaranteed future and investment security. In the meantime, over 1,600 companies are working with the flexible ERP and eBusiness Software, and more than 40 sales partners worldwide ensure the sales and distribution of the abas products. Already since 1995 ABAS has been successfully relying on Linux and about 80% of abas users are using the open source operating system. Evolutionary software The evolutionary system approach of the abas Business Software supports businesses significantly when adjusting to the changing market demands. In the long term, this expandability and adaptability makes a considerable contribution to the competitiveness of the user. Internationality in focus Since medium-sized businesses are more and more integrated into worldwide operating company networks, they need an internationally tailored software as well as a sophisticated, efficient partner network. abas Business Software is multilingual, in the user menu as well as in the display language. | Cost accounting expanded in Version 2004 | |||
| As many other functional areas of the abas Business Software, cost
accounting in Version 2004 can also provide some highlights, e.g. the
automatic debiting of the direct cost centers and crediting of the cost
object. The overhead costs are posted to the cost object following the Internal Account Activity Allocation (IAAA). After the individual costs, as well as the overhead costs, were posted to the cost objects, all indirect cost centers and direct cost centers were completely credited. The costs are now on the cost objects and can, therefore, be compared to the performance in terms of a profit and loss calculation. The transfer posting of the overhead costs from the direct cost centers to the cost objects can be carried out according to various versions and enable posting all costs to the cost objects. Possible versions are: - Version 1: No transfer posting - Version 2: Transfer postings only by using the overhead rates calculated by the IAAA - Version 3: Transfer posting takes place on the basis of the individual overhead surcharge or on the basis of the calculated overhead surcharge - Version 4: Transfer posting can take place using cost object assessments and overhead surcharges (individual or calculated). For each direct cost center a selection can be made on how the transfer posting is to take place, direct cost centers can be excluded from the transfer posting if wanted. |

| 80 employees (15 users) at Georg Zopf GmbH & Co. put their trust in abas Business Software. The new customer of the SteinhilberSchwehr GmbH produces and distributes ropes and sling ropes, chain slings, sling bands, round slings, cargo securing equipment and accessories. The structured approach, the supply with the entire hard and software solution, the proximity of the subsidiary in Bielefeld and the complete service of SteinhilberSchwehr GmbH along with the standard software abas ERP were decisive factors for the new order. Furthermore, the respective references in this sector of industry could be provided. Gallega de Ayudas Técnicas is an expanding company, located in Santiago de Compostela in the north-west of Spain. Gallega produces metal furniture and equipment for clothing chains, such as Zara. Abas Business Solutions Ibérica will install abas ERP on an IBM server using Linux. The NewTal Elektronik und Systeme GmbH has a 25 year experience in developing and producing electronic products. Optimized processes in screen and stencil printing, SMD insertion lines and insert gas reflow soldering guarantee precision and efficiency for the order-related production. NewTal, a former part of Mannesmann-Tally, has been an independent company since January 2002. With a 25% sales increase in the last 2 years, the company and its customers have been growing successfully. In cooperation with a business consultancy, NewTal was able to develop new optimization potentials. The abas Business Software now functions as a tool to implement these process optimizations. At NewTal, abas ERP will be used on 20 workstations and will be supported by the ABAS Systemhaus GmbH in Wuppertal. |
