ABAS Software AG and abas ERP partners: One Global Network since the 90'sKarlsruhe, Germany, December 20th 2010 – Since 1993, the global abas partner network has been the driving force for global abas ERP. Today, abas ERP is multi-currency and offered in more than 30 languages. Customers can work with the same database in different languages, enabling simplified workflows and communication between foreign subsidiaries.
Karlsruhe Germany, November 22nnd 2010 – Erich Sartori is one of the technical godfathers of the abas Business Software. Sartori is an IT specialist through and through: ”If I am able to program something complex which I feel will bring the user an advantage, it‘s a great feeling for me.“ He never had the urge to take over managerial organizational responsibility in the past 30 years. He was always drawn toward the challenge of testing his IT skills on a complex task.
Karlsruhe, November 02nd, 2010 - Peter Walser has been the Chief Technology Officer of ABAS Software AG since 2007. His rise to the top at the software provider in Karlsruhe was gradual but continuous. In 1983 the computer scientist got to know the company as a student. The foundation for the upgradeable business software had just been laid when he started working in development after finishing his degree. The objective pragmatist developed alongside the growing ERP software and started to be increasingly responsible for product, coordination and employees. He is proud of the upgradeable abas Business Software, "It is our strength that we control the maintenance phase of our software product. This makes abas Business Software unique on the market," summarizes Walser.
Karlsruhe, September 21th, 2010 - Margit Döhler is one of the first employees of ABAS. Two years after the company was founded she stopped by for a cup of coffee and has been working for the software provider ever since. She does not have an official title but is the central contact at ABAS for all questions regarding project support and programming. "She is of special importance for ABAS because she is an all-rounder," states Wolfgang Danneman, initiator of the software, who has been sharing an office with her for years. "She is a generalist, has a very good memory and a very impressive pool of knowledge because she can grasp facts quickly." "I am just very curious," says Döhler with a mischievous laugh that is so typical for her.
Karlsruhe, September 10th, 2010 – The first abas Customer Forum was held in 1995 – on a small scale back then. Since then every year in September, users, software partners, cooperation partners, and employees of ABAS Software AG meet in order to exchange information, ideas, and visions. The event has continually grown in the past years: now over 800 participants come to the congress center in Karlsruhe.
Karlsruhe, 23.08.2010 – with every detail in mind and keeping an overview of his many tasks, that is how many employees see Werner Strub. He wouldn’t be able to handle the work volume as CEO of the ABAS Software AG in any other way. Unfortunately that leaves little time for his passions: riding motorbikes, paragliding and sailplaning. That despite his many tasks the focus still lies on his employees is noticed when you watch him walking through the corridors of the ABAS Software AG. Each of the around 115 employees in Karlsruhe is greeted by name. Also at the constantly growing events, like the abas Partner Day with around 300 participants and the abas Customer Forum with around 1000 people at times, he personally welcomes customers, partners and employees. He makes no difference when speaking to a manager or an administrator. What he values in a person it not what position they have, but what character they have. If one were to describe the 56 year old in two words, it would be: a character person.
Karlsruhe, 23.08.2010 – For every chronobiologist dealing with the mechanism of the genetically programmed circadian rhythm and its adjustment to the daytime structure of its environment, Peter Forscht would be a good research object: just as others take the subway to go from work to the gym and then back home, he constantly travels back and forth between continents. This is an ideal characteristic to establish the international abas network.
Karlsruhe, April 7th, 2010 – During 30 years of company history, ABAS encountered many situations. From a rapid financial turnover to an integrated videogame and a desk solution for heavy smokers. Those timeless stories are shared many times within the abas network.
