Sistem Reklam (Turkish: Sistem Reklamcilik A.S. ) is active
internationally as a provider of open air advertising. Through the use
of illuminated and non-illuminated products they give buildings a
certain aesthetic, and present them in different designs and colors
relating to the corporate design of the companies. They have customers
in various sectors of industry: petroleum industry, automotive
industry, rubber industry, banks and shopping centers. |

International success requires support from a strong ERP system |

Sistem has transferred its national successes abroad. Founded at the beginning of the 1970s in Turkey, Sistem Reklam has meanwhile established customers from England to Pakistan and from Egypt to Siberia. The company intends to increase exports in the future. For 35 years, Sistem Reklam has not been satisfied with only being a leading company in its sector in Turkey and has taken important steps to become an international company. The first step is to optimize the company's structure with the aid of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution. The ERP solution should help Sistem Reklam to work with improved coordination, to optimize processes, and to minimize documentation and bureaucracy in the company. |

A precise evaluation process |

Sistem Reklam started the ERP project with guidance from the IT
department. A list of ERP software was compiled and the relevant
companies were contacted. The selection criteria for the first round
were: history of the ERP provider, cost/performance ratio, previous
projects and functionalities of the ERP software. In the second round
the ERP providers were given the chance to demonstrate their program
and Sistem Reklam investigated these companies thoroughly. ABAS was
among those providers which passed the evaluation criteria. The
remaining three ERP providers got another chance to demonstrate the
possibilities of their software. “We included our key users in the ERP
selection process. At the end of each demo we presented our key users
with a poll which we had designed on the basis of our criteria. All of
the ERP providers which managed to stay in the top three of Sistem
Reclams shortlist were internationally recognized companies,” explains
Öner about the process. “Winner of the last round was ABAS.” |

Price evaluation |

After Sistem Reclam had seen all of the demos from the various selected ERP providers they began to request quotations. The criteria which were important to them were method of payment, company infrastructure and type of hardware system the software would require. Öner says, “We obtained offers from the last three firms and tried to evaluate these analytically because the offers changed depending on provider. Some companies were offering a complete ERP software similar to ABAS and others were offering prices on a module basis. We tried to compare the offers for the same modules. Additionally, we compared maintenance and support services, and application and adaptation of the program. We included total costs and wanted to calculate the time period of this project including all of the processes. A report was presented to the senior management when this process was complete.” |

All information was analytically evaluated – ABAS succeeded |

Finally, an evaluation was carried out on all of the information gathered on databases, support, methods of payment and other criteria. After this analysis, ABAS was ahead of its competitors. Öner states that, “We also carried out an analysis in our company and the results made our choice clear. We decided to sign the contract with ABAS and to continue our future projects with ABAS.” |

Outlook: implementation process |

What made the situation complete for Sistem Reklam was the willingness
of ABAS to implement the project, and also the good relationship with
the Turkish abas partner: BEBIM Bilisim Teknolojileri Ltd.Sti. “We want
ABAS to continue and to raise their support in the implementation
process. This process is new for Sistem Reklam. Now we have a strong
relationship with abas Turkey. We are happy with the support which was
given to us and we want it to intensify. What they need in the
implementation period is positively thinking support helping us to gain
results. ABAS can easily meet our demands”, concludes Öner. |
