	RUCO LICHT opts for ABAS

	Karlsruhe, August 30, 2007 - After a two year ERP selection process, the company RUCO LICHT from Augsburg decided on the abas Business Software.

	ERP selection

	Through the continuing business development since the company's foundation in 1949, from the mounting of lighting systems to the production of technical light fixtures, to the design and construction of serial lamps and individual special lamps, it became necessary to replace the existing, outdated system with a modern ERP software. In a two-year selection process RUCO looked at several ERP systems: a requirement profile was created, various forums for prospective customers and reference users were visited, and some presentations were done. In the talks the abas Business Software and the abas partner company Koldt GmbH in Munich stood out. The decision for an ERP software is generally also the foundation of a long-term partnership. Therefore, a high degree of trust is as decisive as the functionalities of the software.

	Decision for abas ERP

	The high coverage of functions in the standard and the high flexibility of the software which enables individual adjustments which also remain after an upgrade, spoke in favor of the abas Business Software. Furthermore, ABAS was up front regarding the criteria price/performance ratio, investment security and user-friendliness. ABAS was also able to score points in regard to the realizable implementation time. At first, RUCO LICHT was using 24 abas ERP licenses.

	CRM solution CAS genesisWorld

	The CRM solution CAS genesis World is being used via the interface of the company willcom GmbH which is integrated into abas ERP. The flow of information in the company, the integration of the external sales force into current business processes, the control of all activities when dealing with prospective customers and customers, as well as the project management are thus optimally solved.

	RUCO LICHT GmbH: innovative lighting technology

	RUCO LICHT stands for innovative lighting technology which can fulfill almost every customer demand. Customized illumination yields the perfect light and is very cost effective. Department stores, shops and supermarkets are put in the right light, as well as banks, schools and administrative buildings. Since 1995 the company has been located in Augsburg-Haunstetten. The available 4000 m2 area is separated into administration, sales, construction, as well as production, paintshop, final assembly, warehouse and shipping. RUCO LICHT employs 45 full-time employees and is managed by Markus Weindl, who is also an associate, and Thomas Holtschmidt.
