ABAS Software shows students the meaning behind the phrase ‘Karlsruhe Technology Region’ at the “Catch the Job” Career Fair

Karlsruhe, December 7, 2007 – At the recent “Catch the Job” career fair ABAS joined several regional IT companies in presenting itself to 120 students from four locations throughout Karlsruhe.

Catch the job"With our 27-year old company history, ABAS Software could be considered a part of the region’s 'Old Economy'. This demonstrates stability and company know-how," explains Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Peter Walser. "The core competence of our abas Business Software is the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). We need people who enjoy developing business solutions for SMB companies, adopting them in the regular work environment, as well as maintaining these solutions long-term. We are looking for individuals with ideas, team spirit and the willingness to take the initiative.”

“We see ABAS Software as a great fit for those interested in working for a global company, yet prefer the structure of a medium-sized software provider. Our overseas business already yields 20% of total group revenues and we see this trend increasing.”

In addition to permanent employees, ABAS Software is also interested in supporting students pursuing their diploma thesis in the fields of software development or software support. Interested students should send their applications to jobs@abas.de.

In addition to ABAS Software, the following companies participated in the “Catch the Job” career fair: Astaro, B.i.Team, CAS, Disy, 1&1, Mentasys, Netviewer, Omikron, Seven2one, United Internet, Virtual7 and Xcc.

The event was managed by the Cyberforum Karlsruhe. Over 3000 IT companies with 28,000 employees are located in the Karlsruhe Technology Region.
