Summary: abas Customer Forum "Trends 2006"  
     
  Karlsruhe, September 28, 2005 – Already for the 11th time ABAS welcomed about 900 participants at the Kongresszentrum in Karlsruhe. On the two-day event (September 22-23, 2005) numerous innovations regarding abas Business Software Version 2005 were presented. Central topics at the user event were the 25th company anniversary, as well as the newest product of the software provider from Karlsruhe, the eBusiness platform abas eB.

  abas customer forum “A quarter century of ABAS - this seems almost unreal for the founders and the longtime companions of the company. These years passed in no time. When ABAS was founded 25 years ago, no one could have guessed which dimensions the company would achieve in the future. The company with 8 employees that was once a group of students has now become a group of companies with 16 business corporations. ABAS Software AG in Karlsruhe employs about 85 people, together with the over 40 abas partners that makes a total of approx. 450 employees worldwide, which will make a turnover of 45 Mio EUR in 2005. ”Today, abas Business Software is being used in over 1,700 companies and is known for its quality, guaranteed future and investment security,” says Werner Strub, CEO and co-founder of ABAS Software AG.  
     
  He continues: “The software is developed in the technology region Karlsruhe in Germany. By doing so ABAS gains advantages in efficiency, which could not be compensated for by developing abroad. The excellent communication at ABAS between development, marketing, sales and the customers results in an above average customer satisfaction as can be confirmed by independent surveys. By outsourcing certain business processes, German medium-sized businesses expect their ERP system to support them in many countries of the world. The abas Business Software meets this demand through its Unicode compatibility and is thus available in over 26 languages. ABAS uses independent profit centers as sales partners in Germany, as well as abroad. With their requirements, these sales partners also contribute to the software’s constant improvement. The ongoing training of the partners and further development of the product in compliance with the demands of the international market ensures competitiveness. Thus, ABAS realized a healthy growth which increases the employment in Germany, as well as abroad.”  
     
  abas eB: eBusiness for medium-sized businesses – a central topic at the Customer Forum  
     
  Considerable interest was generated by the lectures regarding the eBusiness platform. Medium-sized businesses are more and more challenged to expand their market position by means of an appealing service. The Internet plays an important role. In many companies abas eB is online. In the workshop “Reports of use in practice”, the users gave lectures on the daily use of the eBusiness platform in their companies. The packaging specialist Leser GmbH, located in Lahr, has for example integrated the industry’s largest online shop. abas eB provides all advantages of a flexible eBusiness solution suited for medium-sized businesses and combines many years of ERP know-how with the most modern Internet technologies.

  ABAS in dialogThe focus of the Customer Forum was once more the dialog between users, abas Partners and employees of ABAS Software AG. Questions were answered in personal discussions, ideas were exchanged and suggestions were passed on. A popular platform for this kind of exchange was the open discussion.

  The participants of the abas Customer Forum were delighted, especially the “personal contact with the ABAS employees, management and partners” was appreciated. Representing the good atmosphere was the little ball Jürgen Leiser, Head of IT at the abas user Leser, literally threw at Werner Strub after a workshop in order to thank the abas employees on behalf of all Customer Forum participants for the perfect organization and the two valuable, useful, informative and entertaining days regarding the abas Business Software.
